Hello Plant Friends,
This website is intended to communicate the joys and benefits of gardening and horticulture. It’s also intended to provide value for the experienced horticulturist while helping a new crop of gardeners develop their skills and passion for gardening.
The website is a growing collection of plants, as well as the people and the gardens that influence the horticulture world.
My horticulture career began as a student of the Professional Horticulture Program at Longwood Gardens. The two-year program combines academic learning and training from some of the most talented horticulturists in their respective fields. Visit their website to learn more about the horticulture classes and programs they offer.
I continued to hone my gardening skills at Gravetye Manor where I developed a keen eye for the classical flower garden, a knack for pruning espalier fruit trees and learned to relinquish control in the wild garden. After the conclusion of my apprenticeship, I returned to the states to accept a position at Hagley Museum and Library, as the manager of their kitchen garden and orchard. Currently, I am the Assistant Gardens Supervisor at one of America’s most beautiful college campus, Swarthmore College.
